Memories

I think my best times and memories with dad are definitely holiday times, dad was such an active dad he was never one for relaxing on the beach, he was very much one of the kids.  We would just dump all our gear with my mum then the 3 of us would just dash off on the fastest or highest ride or the fastest slide.  He would be in the sea nicking and probably breaking our surf board( can't actually remember who broke it), throwing us over the highest waves in the Atlantic.  Building the best sandcastle on the beach, always the envy on the beach, but then again we had the best shovels not some plastic spade, and it was always the last standing after the sea had devoured everyone else's.  My very fondest memory was of knee skiing , I was amazing, nick and dad were rubbish falling off as soon as they were off the jetty, it was a talking point between me and dad for years after.

My boys remember him for his dark chocolate and stemmed ginger biscuits which he brought to ours every week without fail and if we went to his the first thing they would ask for.

Em remembers him for his bags of conkers which he would collect, followed then by lots of tips on how to get them to be the best fighters, I think it might have involved vinegar and putting them in the oven, but don't hold me to that, sounds like a recipe for a fire to me and certainly one I never tried

Dad was such a positive influence on Natasha and Greg's lives and they will always remember him for his bedtime stories, reading together on Sunday mornings, his love of Eccles cakes and his wonderful Sunday Roasts, Their trips to Bradford city.  Hours on the driving range, his colourful ted baker shirts and his fear of frogs.
Natasha would love styling his hair with bows and clips.

And we all remember his swimming pool antics, playing sharks and his infamous crocodile roll
